Leaving for Oklahoma City

Well, I will be leaving tomorrow to travel to Oklahoma City to the studios of Tate Music. I will actually be visiting some friends in St. Louis over the weekend, and will be in the studio next Tuesday. I will be cutting vocals on two songs that will finish out my new project. Please be in prayer for my travel and for all of those in the studio that will be working on the project. Oh, and yes, please pray that I will sing okay too, LOL!! I guess that is kind of important, LOL.

Take care friends and I will be in touch for an update when I return.

God Bless,

Rickey

Time to Sing

Well, it is getting close to the time that I will be going to Tate Music Studios in Oklahoma City to cut vocals on the last two songs on my project. Around December of 2008 I received an email from Tate with the recording schedule to finish the project - at that time we had vocals scheduled for early March. That date seemed like a long way off, especially for an artist that is chomping at the bit to finish my project and begin promoting the album. However, I had to remind myself that all good things come to those who wait, LOL! Anyway the first of the year came and went, and all of a sudden I am staring at my recording date in about 2 weeks or so. So, to say that I am excited about getting back to the studio and finishing the project is an understatement.

I just spoke with my Producer, Steven Jeffrey by phone regarding some of the aspects of recording and where we wanted these songs to go. Steven was very considerate to listen to my questions and at the same time identify with the direction and purpose that I was attempting to achieve through this music. I will say again, if you are a musician/artist, that is considering a direction for your musical career, you cannot go wrong with Tate Music Group. It is so refreshing to place a call to an individual, and they not only take your call, but spend time talking with you and express an interest in your music. Needless to say we are on the same page as to a musical direction, as well as being on track to have the tracks I need to review this week.

As my recording date approaches, I am very excited about what God is going to do with this music to change lives. Once we finish the vocals, the new songs as well as those previously recorded will be mixed and mastered. From there we will begin the artwork for the CD Cover, and begin to work on the Marketing plans for this project. This is definantely going to be an exciting year. I invite you to check out my, Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/rickeywrightdemo check out some of the songs that will appear on the new album - you can also join my mailing list, I would so much enjoy having your support of my ministry. I am also accepting bookings for 2009, so if you would be interested in having me at your church or any other Christ centered event, please contact me.

Last but certainly not least, please remember me in your prayers as I go to Oklahoma City to record in a couple of weeks - and not only me, but also my producer, the art department and Marketing Department at Tate Music, that this project will be all that God wants it to be.

God Bless,

Rickey

Thank you Tate Music Group

There has been several posts on various sites regarding The Tate Music Group in a negative light, however, I wanted to take this opportunity to post some positive comments about my Record label.

I was contacted by Allen Finch in October of 2008 regarding music that I had submitted for review. Allen was very professional in his review of my music, and he was willing to answer all of my questions. After several phone conversations, Allen advised me that Tate was ready to make a formal offer of a contract that would allow Tate Music Group to partner with me in Production and Distribution of my new CD. Even before I received the contract, I had researched TMG, because like many others, I was skeptical of the deal they were offering. In researching the package that Tate offered, I felt that the marketing and promotional offer alone was well worth the price of artist participation - not to mention the recording benefits!!

After receiving the contract from Allen, I was impressed with the straight forward approach in the verbage - everything was spelled out, and their did not appear to be anything that was hidden. However, when I got the last page of the contract, I was blown away. The belief statement of the Tate Music Group is one of the most evangelistic statements that I have ever read. My feelings were, "this is a company that is Christ centered, and has the artists interests at heart". After reading their belief statement, I knew that this was the right label for me.

Before coming to Tate, I had just completed the recording of 10 Contemporary Christian songs in Nashville with the Tyler Music Group, so very little production would be needed for the new CD. However, I have decided to add to new songs to this project, which will begin production this month. I will be posting updates as to the progress of the new album, and you can also check out my, Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/rickeywrightdemo for updates as well.

To date I have been very pleased with everyone at Tate Music, as I said previously, Allen was great to work with during the Acquisition process. I have also worked with Director of Operations, Rachael Sweeden, as well as Eva Hamlin in Marketing, and everyone has been most kind and professional - they have done everything they have said they would to date.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the Tate Music Group for allowing me to be a part of thier family. I feel honored to be one of thier artists, and to list Tate Music as my record label on my musical Resume. It is a good feeling to be associated with a Christian organizaion that is not only concerned with the well being and wellfare of thier artists, but also about doing Christ's work in this world. Like many of the other artists that I have read their blog posts, I too spent much time in prayer before making the decision to sign with Tate, and I can say without a doubt that this is where God wants me to be.

As I said at the beginning of my blog, there has been a lot of negative stuff posted concerning The Tate Music Group, however, I wanted to let people know from someone that has taken the leap of faith. The Tate Music Group is a fine organization and God is blessing their efforts.

Thanks again TMG, and I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do during this upcoming year.

God Bless,

Rickey
