"In His Time" Released - 10/0602009

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since my last blog, but I finally have some exciting news to report. My new Album, "In His Time", has been released by the Tate Music Group!! The official Release date was yesterday, 10/06/09, which means that it is now available at most of the major retail outlets across the country, including major retail Christian Bookstores such as "Family Christian Bookstore", and "Lifeway". It is also available on most of the digital download sources, such as ITunes, Amazon.com and others. Some of the songs on the new album have also been released to various Christian Radio stations for air play, so do not hesitate to contact your local radio station and request my music to be played. The songs that I have released for air play are, "He Knows", "The Least of These", "In His Time", and "Walk through the Shadows". If they tell you that they have never heard of "Rickey Wright", that only means that perhaps the station has not been contacted, depending on the location - we tried to contact the stations that were within a 3 hour drive of my local area. If you don't mind let me know the radio station and their call letters, and I will make sure that they are contacted.

This has been a long time coming, but I am excited that the day has finally arrived that the record has been released. I would like to thank all of those involved at Tate Music Group for their tireless efforts in getting this project to this stage of development. It is my prayer that God will use this album to touch and minister to others. I am certainly not perfect, and I am learning to die to self a little more everyday. The last three years or so have been a growing process for me, and God has had to teach me many lessons about faith, patience, and healing. I am looking forward to the opportunity of sharing this music with others, and hopefully helping them in some way to cope with something they are going through.

We are currently accepting bookings for the new album, so if any of you would be interested in having me at your church, please feel free to drop me a line.

Tate Music is currently in the process of setting up a Release signing as well as a concert at my home church that will take place within the next 4-6 weeks. As soon as these plans are formalized I will be writing to let you know.

To everyone that has offered support in the past, thank you so much!! I have mentioned this to some of you in the past, but I am planning to begin a newsletter in the coming weeks - so, if you would like to be included on the mailing list, please send me a message with your email address.

Thanks again to everyone for your prayers and support, and be blessed!!

New CD, "In His Time" is now available

Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that my new CD, "In His Time" is now available on Tate Music. If you would like to order your copy before it reaches the retail outlets please go to http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore/book.php?w=812517011390 The release date is still approximately 3 months out - that is the date that it will be available on the shelves in that major retail outlets across the country, however, it is available now for ordering on the "Tate Music Group" website.

This project has been a long time coming. I began writing the material for this album way back in May of 2009 and I recorded the bulk of the material in September of '09. However, anyone that has done any recording knows that things do not always go as planned, but one thing that I have learned is that it always works in God's Timing. I could not think of a more appropriate title to the album than, "In His Time".

I am excited about the album being available and I am looking forward to seeing what God has planned for this project. As I was writing the material for this project I had the feeling that God had special plans for this project, and that there were many hurting people that needed to hear the message in these songs. So, with that I am excited to get out and begin sharing this music and the stories behind the songs with others. We will begin booking events within the next week, so if you would be interested in having me at your church for special music please feel free to contact me. I will be forwarding all requests to Tate Music to arrange bookings - please send contact information along with your requests so that we can get in touch with the correct contact person.

To everyone that had a part in this album coming to fruition, thank you for your efforts, you will have a direct link in what God has planned for this album.

Please remember me in your prayers as we begin the journey of sharing this music.

God Bless,
Rickey

Release Date for "In His Time" is Approaching

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since my last post and I apologize for not giving updates to my music and career. However, we are finally getting to the point in the production of my new CD, "In His Time", that I can see a release date in the coming future.

I received a "Proof" copy of the new CD from Tate Music recently for my review and approval. My Designer with Tate Music has been laboring over the cover design for the past 3-4 weeks. However, I think that we have a winner. I am very pleased with the design of the New cover and hopefully soon, we can unviel it to the public. Janae (Designer) has worked very hard on this and I think that she has done a great job.

We are at the very end of the Production process and I am hopeful that the New CD, "In His Time", will go to print as early as 1st of next week. I will begin discussions with our Marketing staff very soon, to begin mapping out a strategy for the next phase of the record release. It is difficult to assess at this point when the release date will be, however, I am optimistic that it could be within the next 6-8 weeks. I do feel that very soon we can begin offering information regarding pre-orders, so stay tuned for updates regarding information on pre-orders.

Getting this record to this point in the Production Process, has been long and at times difficult, however, it will be worth it. I am not the most patient person, and I have wondered at times if God was trying to teach me patience, ha, ha. One thing that I have learned, is that everything that happens, good or bad, fast or slow, in in God's control, and it is all in His time!! Thus the title of my new album, "In His Time", is very "appropriate!! To everyone that has offered support of my music during this process, I would like to say thank you. Your support, prayers and encouragement during times that I needed to be lifted up have been very much appreciated.

I hope to be blogging again soon with a definante release date and perhaps information regarding pre-orders of my New CD, "In His Time".

God Bless,

Rickey

Back from Oklahoma

Well, I am resting up a little from my trip to Oklahoma City, and the Tate Music Group Studios this past week. We arrive home last night and even though we had a good time, it is so nice to be home! I recorded the vocals to the last two songs on my new CD, "A Beautiful Place", which is a remix of Wayne Watson's classic, and one of my original songs entitled, "I Believe", I know, you would think that I could have come up with a more original title, LOL! However, the title is the essence of the lyrics, so, I could not come up with anything more original, ha, ha!

Our experience in the studio was great, and everything went as well as it possibly could have. My Producer, Steven Jeffrey was very professional and did a great job engineering my vocal work - I could not have been more pleased. Steven said that all of my songs should be mixed and mastered by the end of the month and then the Project will go to "Graphics" for the design phase of my CD cover - from there it will go to press and Marketing. I have not been given a firm release date, but I am hoping for a release somewhere around mid May, (fingers crossed).

I want to say thank you to everyone that prayed for my wife and I on our trip to Oklahoma - it made a tremendous difference. Without your prayers I might not be writing this to you today. We decided to visit some friends in St. Louis this past weekend, and traveled to Oklahoma City on Monday (2nd). While traveling from St. Louis to Oklahoma City, all was going well until suddenly, as I topped a hill on the interstate, I noticed a State Trooper's car stopped dead still in my lane. In thinking back on the incident, I literally had 1 second to react. Somehow, by God's grace and Providence, we escaped injury and narrowly missed the State Trooper's car - it was a miracle that only God could have done. I realized later, after I had time to catch my breath, how close we had come to ending our earthly existence. The event, reminded me that until God's plans have been fulfilled in ones life, that we can not be harmed. I know that may sound a little cheezy to some, but I really believe that. I believe that God has a plan for my life, and perhaps my music to reach others, and until that plan is fulfilled, nothing can interfere, not even a police car blocking my path on the interstate. Thank you all once again for praying for my wife and I as we traveled, it certainly made a difference.

I will be sending out updates as they come my way as to the progress and release of the new album, please stay tuned. Also, I would love to hear from you, so drop by my, Myspace page or just leave me a comment, I alway enjoy talking to any of you.

God Bless,

Rickey

Leaving for Oklahoma City

Well, I will be leaving tomorrow to travel to Oklahoma City to the studios of Tate Music. I will actually be visiting some friends in St. Louis over the weekend, and will be in the studio next Tuesday. I will be cutting vocals on two songs that will finish out my new project. Please be in prayer for my travel and for all of those in the studio that will be working on the project. Oh, and yes, please pray that I will sing okay too, LOL!! I guess that is kind of important, LOL.

Take care friends and I will be in touch for an update when I return.

God Bless,

Rickey

Time to Sing

Well, it is getting close to the time that I will be going to Tate Music Studios in Oklahoma City to cut vocals on the last two songs on my project. Around December of 2008 I received an email from Tate with the recording schedule to finish the project - at that time we had vocals scheduled for early March. That date seemed like a long way off, especially for an artist that is chomping at the bit to finish my project and begin promoting the album. However, I had to remind myself that all good things come to those who wait, LOL! Anyway the first of the year came and went, and all of a sudden I am staring at my recording date in about 2 weeks or so. So, to say that I am excited about getting back to the studio and finishing the project is an understatement.

I just spoke with my Producer, Steven Jeffrey by phone regarding some of the aspects of recording and where we wanted these songs to go. Steven was very considerate to listen to my questions and at the same time identify with the direction and purpose that I was attempting to achieve through this music. I will say again, if you are a musician/artist, that is considering a direction for your musical career, you cannot go wrong with Tate Music Group. It is so refreshing to place a call to an individual, and they not only take your call, but spend time talking with you and express an interest in your music. Needless to say we are on the same page as to a musical direction, as well as being on track to have the tracks I need to review this week.

As my recording date approaches, I am very excited about what God is going to do with this music to change lives. Once we finish the vocals, the new songs as well as those previously recorded will be mixed and mastered. From there we will begin the artwork for the CD Cover, and begin to work on the Marketing plans for this project. This is definantely going to be an exciting year. I invite you to check out my, Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/rickeywrightdemo check out some of the songs that will appear on the new album - you can also join my mailing list, I would so much enjoy having your support of my ministry. I am also accepting bookings for 2009, so if you would be interested in having me at your church or any other Christ centered event, please contact me.

Last but certainly not least, please remember me in your prayers as I go to Oklahoma City to record in a couple of weeks - and not only me, but also my producer, the art department and Marketing Department at Tate Music, that this project will be all that God wants it to be.

God Bless,

Rickey

Thank you Tate Music Group

There has been several posts on various sites regarding The Tate Music Group in a negative light, however, I wanted to take this opportunity to post some positive comments about my Record label.

I was contacted by Allen Finch in October of 2008 regarding music that I had submitted for review. Allen was very professional in his review of my music, and he was willing to answer all of my questions. After several phone conversations, Allen advised me that Tate was ready to make a formal offer of a contract that would allow Tate Music Group to partner with me in Production and Distribution of my new CD. Even before I received the contract, I had researched TMG, because like many others, I was skeptical of the deal they were offering. In researching the package that Tate offered, I felt that the marketing and promotional offer alone was well worth the price of artist participation - not to mention the recording benefits!!

After receiving the contract from Allen, I was impressed with the straight forward approach in the verbage - everything was spelled out, and their did not appear to be anything that was hidden. However, when I got the last page of the contract, I was blown away. The belief statement of the Tate Music Group is one of the most evangelistic statements that I have ever read. My feelings were, "this is a company that is Christ centered, and has the artists interests at heart". After reading their belief statement, I knew that this was the right label for me.

Before coming to Tate, I had just completed the recording of 10 Contemporary Christian songs in Nashville with the Tyler Music Group, so very little production would be needed for the new CD. However, I have decided to add to new songs to this project, which will begin production this month. I will be posting updates as to the progress of the new album, and you can also check out my, Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/rickeywrightdemo for updates as well.

To date I have been very pleased with everyone at Tate Music, as I said previously, Allen was great to work with during the Acquisition process. I have also worked with Director of Operations, Rachael Sweeden, as well as Eva Hamlin in Marketing, and everyone has been most kind and professional - they have done everything they have said they would to date.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the Tate Music Group for allowing me to be a part of thier family. I feel honored to be one of thier artists, and to list Tate Music as my record label on my musical Resume. It is a good feeling to be associated with a Christian organizaion that is not only concerned with the well being and wellfare of thier artists, but also about doing Christ's work in this world. Like many of the other artists that I have read their blog posts, I too spent much time in prayer before making the decision to sign with Tate, and I can say without a doubt that this is where God wants me to be.

As I said at the beginning of my blog, there has been a lot of negative stuff posted concerning The Tate Music Group, however, I wanted to let people know from someone that has taken the leap of faith. The Tate Music Group is a fine organization and God is blessing their efforts.

Thanks again TMG, and I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do during this upcoming year.

God Bless,

Rickey
